we see the new building as an architectural link between the existing tree grove and the schoolyard, which updates the original idea of the school system by martin elsässer with contemporary means of expression.

classified into above- and underground areas, the shape of the expansion is proportioned in such a way, that separate circulations inside and outside of the school could be created.

the height of the new building with only three floors respects the scale of the existing school and the surrounding buildings.

a special focus is set on the school mensa with its maximum orientations to the surrounding areas and its covered terrace in the outdoor. it marks the central core of the school system

in erster linie sehen wir den neubau als bauliches gelenk zwischen dem bestehenden baumhain und dem schulhof, wodurch die ursprüngliche idee der schulanlage von martin elsässer mit zeitgenössischen ausdrucksweisen fortgeführt werden soll.

gegliedert in ober- und unterirdische bereiche der erweiterung werden die baumassen so proportioniert, daß sich eigenständige kreisläufe im inneren und äußeren der schule bilden, die sich die kinder in ihrem schulalltag aneignen können.

die höhenentwicklung des neubaus mit drei geschossen nimmt rücksicht auf den maßstab von bestand und umgebender bebauung.

eine sonderstellung in der schulanlage nimmt die mensa ein. mit maximalen bezugsrichtungen und überdeckter außenterrasse, die zugleich die optionale bauliche erweiterung darstellt, markiert sie das zentrum der schulanlage.
